Toyota announced on 21 October 2026 that its all-electric C-HR+ was taking part in EV Rally Cymru. The Welsh programme, scheduled for 21–22 October, brings different classes of electric vehicle together in everyday operating conditions. The two-day route was planned at about 385 miles, or 620 kilometres.
From Cardiff to Deeside
According to the official announcement, more than 25 electric vehicles are involved, including cars, vans, trucks and articulated vehicles. The route was announced as starting in Cardiff, stopping overnight in Aberystwyth and finishing at Toyota’s Deeside engine plant. Nine checkpoints were set along the way.
Toyota’s C-HR+ crew consists of Richard Seymour and Rod Kirkpatrick. The manufacturer also says it supplied bZ4X vehicles to support the organisers. The source was published on the event’s opening day as a participation and programme announcement. We therefore do not present its planned route as a subsequently verified finishing or consumption result.
What figures are given for the C-HR+?
The event car has Design specification and 18-inch wheels. Toyota quotes up to 377 miles of WLTP range for this version with a 77 kWh battery, equivalent to approximately 607 kilometres. This is the manufacturer’s standardised measurement, not a distance achieved at the event or an independent road-test result.
A route longer than the car’s quoted range does not mean the vehicle will complete the same distance without charging. The itinerary, stops and energy replenishment need separate consideration. The event announcement does not yet provide a results table showing charging times, total energy taken or measured consumption for each vehicle.
Keep the conditions separate when assessing range
For readers following electric mobility, events like this are useful because they place different vehicles and route requirements in a shared context. A sound assessment needs weather, speed, road profile and starting and finishing battery levels as well as distance. Without those details, route length alone cannot establish an efficiency ranking.
The C-HR+ details here refer to the vehicle in the UK press announcement. Check the market and version when comparing trim names, batteries and range. The cover is a studio photograph of the real C-HR+ wearing EV Rally Cymru graphics; it is not presented as an on-road competition image. Any later results should be assessed separately from the participation announcement.
